Role Summary:


The Head of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of all plant machinery, utilities, infrastructure, and equipment. This role ensures minimal downtime, maximizes productivity, and upholds the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance across the facility.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the maintenance team and supervise all preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.

  • Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance schedule for critical equipment and infrastructure.

  • Ensure minimal downtime and efficient troubleshooting during machine breakdowns.

  • Monitor and control maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor contracts.

  • Ensure statutory compliance related to safety, energy, and environmental norms.

  • Coordinate with production, quality, and other departments to ensure seamless plant operations.

  • Maintain and update all maintenance documentation, equipment history, and reports.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Lean) within the maintenance department.

  • Lead installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

  • Train and mentor the maintenance team to enhance technical skills and safety awareness.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 10–15 years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, PLC-based automation, utilities (HVAC, compressors, DG, chillers, etc.).

  • Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance record systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving, team management, and communication skills.

  • Exposure to safety standards, ISO audits, and energy efficiency practices.


Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in manufacturing industries such as automotive, plastics, defense, or heavy engineering.

  • Hands-on approach with strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.

  • Strategic thinking with a proactive and cost-conscious mindset.
